Congress Venue
The XVI. World Congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders - IFSO 2011, will be held on August 31 - September 3, 2011 at the CCH-Congress Center Hamburg (Marseiller Strasse, D-20355 Hamburg)
Language
The official language of the Congress will be English.
In addition there will be live translation of the oral presentations in the main halls into Portuguese and Spanish.
Letter of Invitation
Upon request, the Organizing Committee will send an invitation to participate at the congress. Such invitation does not imply any commitment on the part of the organizers to provide financial support.
All foreign visitors entering Germany must present valid passports or either internationally recognized travel documents. It is recommended that participants find out, from the nearest German Embassy or Consulate in their countries, the requirements for visas and custom regulations.
Climate and Clothing
The weather in Germany in autumn can still be very warm and pleasant, although occasional rain may occur. Temperature is between 15 - 22 ° C. Jackets, sweaters and an umbrella are recommended, particularly for the evenings.
Currency
The currency in Germany is the EURO. Exchange facilities are available at the airport, main train stations, major hotels and exchange agencies.
Liability
The Organizing Committee will not be liable for personal accidents or loss/damage of private properties of congress participants either during the congress or during any of the tours. It is therefore recommended that participants arrange their own personal health, accident and travel insurance.
